Adverbial clauses of manner

We use as if and as though to talk about two things:

• Imaginary situations

• Situations that may not be true but are likely or (1) _____

We use as if and as though to talk about two things:

Note: As if is more common than as though.

Words that often go after as if/ as though: look, feel, or seem.

Chúng ta dùng as if và as though để nói về hai thứ:

Cấu trúc của mệnh đề trạng ngữ chỉ cách thức

• as if/ as though + S + V (thì hiện tại)

Ví dụ: Anh ta nhìn như thể anh ta sẽ sớm đi du học Mỹ.

• as if/ as though + S + V (thì quá khứ đơn)

Ví dụ: Dường như nhiều người nước ngoài trân trọng Áo dài.

Chú ý: as if phổ biến hơn as though

Những từ thường đi sau as if/ as though gồm: look, feel, hoặc seem.

2. Write (I) if the sentence is about an imaginary situation or (L) if the sentence is about a situation that is likely to happen.
