Read the dialogue and answer the question
Norman: What are you going to do when you leave school?
George: I want to go to Cambridge. I discussed this with my father before I left home and he said that he wanted me to spend a year in Paris so that I could get a really good knowledge of French. And what about you?
Norman: I'm going into my father's business, a shipping company. But I really wanted something different. I think life in an office is very dull.
George: What did you want to do?
Norman: I wanted to be an artist and paint pictures.
George: I painted a picture once but it was really awful. To come back to your story, what did your father say?
Norman: Oh, he was very good at it. He gave me enough money to go to the best art studio in London. Well, after a week the teacher told me not to waste my time. I would always be an amateur.
George: Well, that was honest enough, but rather hard on you.
Norman: Oh, I didn't mind. I knew he was right. Anyway I asked him to teach me Art History. That way maybe I can become an Art critic.
George: That sounds fine.
