Volunteering at a big event like the London Marathon was a special experience for Alex Bliss.

"I was really happy to be part of the London Marathon and thought it would be great to help out. If I have the choice, I will always prefer to volunteer at an event rather than just watch because it feels much more exciting," said Alex Bliss, a male volunteer for Cancer Research UK.

As a Cheer Team Member for the 2015 London Marathon, Alex cheered on the runners and collected donations. He said, "When I shouted out the names of the Cancer Research runners, it felt really nice to see how they reacted." He also shared his excitement in watching all the athletes, including famous people like Paula Radcliffe, as they ran by during the marathon. He even saw the final runners and the support vans at the end.

According to Alex, volunteering at the London Marathon not only allows him to make a positive impact but also provides a more enjoyable experience compared to being a spectator.
