Hi everyone! We visited Cát Bà National Park yesterday. It's close to Ha Long Bay and it has got an amazing rainforest. We went hiking on a number of trails and paths. The park is home to 32 species of mammals, including golden-headed langurs. This is one of the most endangered animals in Vietnam and on Earth. I didn't see one, but our guide took us on a hike to the top of Ngu Lâm Peak. The views were fantastic. We walked the 9km trail to the village of Việt Hải. The hike wasn't an easy one but we had hiking shoes, raincoats and lots of water with us. We saw macaques, deer, civets and squirrels. Cát Bà National Park is a World Heritage Site. I hope you can visit it one day! Check out my photos.

Công viên là nơi sinh sống của 32 loài động vật có vú, bao gồm cả voọc đầu vàng. Đây là một trong những loài động vật có nguy cơ tuyệt chủng cao nhất ở Việt Nam và trên Trái đất. Tôi không nhìn thấy chúng, nhưng hướng dẫn viên của chúng tôi đã đưa chúng tôi đi bộ lên đỉnh Ngự Lâm. Quang cảnh rất tuyệt vời. Chúng tôi đi bộ 9km đường mòn đến làng Việt Hải. Chuyến đi bộ đường dài không hề dễ dàng nhưng chúng tôi mang theo giày đi bộ đường dài, áo mưa và rất nhiều nước. Chúng tôi nhìn thấy khỉ, hươu, cầy và sóc. Vườn quốc gia Cát Bà là Di sản Thế giới. Hi everyone! Today, my school received a Green Flag! We got it from Eco- Schools, an international organisation. It promotes eco- friendly schools. Last year, we installed recycling bins in the school corridors and each classroom has energy- efficient bulbs. Also, every Friday is “Travel Smart Day”, we walk or ride bicycles to school. Does anyone else go to an Eco- School?

Welcome to the club, Lauren! My school’s an Eco- School, too! We’re very proud of our Green Flag. We use an outdoor classroom on sunny days to save on electricity, and in Art class we create art from recycled materials.

Congratulations! I attend an Eco- School, too. We use food waste from the canteen to make compost. Then we use the compost to help grow organic vegetables in our greenhouse.

It is a good idea to do things that benefit others. You don’t get paid but you volunteer to help the community. Here are some service ideas.

BUYING NOTHING
Buy Nothing Day is a special day to relax without spending any money at all. Just think how beneficial this would be both for you and, yes, the planet! Every time you don't buy anything, you're doing your part to lessen the bad effect you have on the natural environment.
So, what can you do on Buy Nothing Day?
▶Make a list of what you would normally buy in a day. Then cross off everything that is not absolutely necessary.
▶ Plan a budget and stick to it.
Don't spend your pocket money on things you don't need.
▶ Use the things you already have at home to make something you would normally buy - maybe a loaf of bread or a birthday gift.
These suggestions may make you realise how much of your shopping is really just shopping because you can. Change your spending habits and change the world!
